No stranger to the stage as a long time performer, AARYS is a confident and engaging presence who commands attention with strong and haunting vocals. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has been playing live for over a decade in the Canadian music scene, starting with her first pub gigs at the age of 13. She has spent the last three years honing her unique sound with a talented team of writers and producers from both Toronto and L.A.
Her debut album “Secrets” – recorded in downtown Toronto’s Soleil Sound with award-winning producer, Timothy Abraham, was released on April 5, 2019. The lead single, “Echo” was named SOCAN Song of the Week on April 29th, and has also been featured by CBC News and CBC Radio One as one of “3 New Ontario Songs You Need to Hear this Week”. AARYS’ alternative-pop/EDM cover of Tom Petty’s “It’s Good to Be King” was featured on a Spotify and YouTube exclusive playlist called “Canada Covers Tom Petty”. The cover takes on the female perspective on “being king”.
As someone who has had their struggles with anxiety and depression, AARYS is also an advocate for mental health – sharing music and speaking at events throughout Ontario. The songs on “Secrets” are dark and driving, and reflect the singer’s experiences with mental health, self discovery and relationships.
